The Aikido Institute of Newfoundland are very proud to announce Sensei Dermot McDonalds promotion to 7th Dan as posted by the Aikikai today, a sincere congrats to Sensei on his New Year promotion! A long and distinguished Aikido journey, well recognized in this manner.
We all feel priviliged to have practiced under Sensei McDonald, and we are sure Sensei Graham Burt would be very proud to see this moment!
A very big CONGRATULATIONS to Neil Quigley on the acquisition of his 5th dan – after many years of dedicated training and for being such a strong and essential part of the workings of the dojo: preparations for seminars, caring for injured visitors, collections at the door, instructing, hosting socials, and even accommodating senseis in his home for weekends. So, thank you, Neil, for all your generous and kind assistance over the many years – it has not gone unnoticed
The Insitute hopes that all had a Merry Christmas, and would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year for 2022. The Pandemic once again has resulting in the club needing to shutdown for a while, but we all hope to be back on the mats before too long.
In the meantime, hopefully all have a safe start to the year!
The Aikido Institute would like to wish all a safe Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year to you and your families.
2020 has been a significant challenge, and we look forward to put it behind us. However, the pandemic appears to be far from over, so please all try and stay safe and diligent. We look forward to the opportunity to get back to regular practice and enjoy this wonderful Art that is Aikido.
